Learning at home during COVID-19

As you are aware, the world is going through a very difficult period of time right now with the outbreak of COVID-19.


Everything is shutting down and whole cities are going into lockdown. Without doubt, your child's education is going to be affected as more and more schools are being closed to help contain the virus.


Many teachers around the world are currently trying their best to teach children remotely using video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet. This is a testament to teachers around the world who continue to show their versatility and resilience when faced with an issue to try and minimise impact on student's learning.


As a parent at home, you may be wondering what things you can do to help your children with their education at home. It is in fact a wonderful opportunity for your children to learn some new skills that they wouldn't usually learn in the classroom. This could be in the form of cleaning; laundry; money & budgeting; grocery shopping; cooking; gardening etc.


With regard to their education, there are so many websites right now that are providing free resources for children who are learning at home.

Free Online E-book Library

Oxford Owl has hundreds of wonderful free e-books on their website which can help your child to read. They even give you a free assessment to begin with and learn what level your child is currently reading at.


White Rose Maths

This is an excellent Maths resource where your child can access age specific Maths lessons with accompanying videos to help with each activity.


Third Space Learning

Here, the people at Third Space Learning have put an array of free resources together on one page for you to access and help your child with their learning at home.
