School Profile

 

Established in 2017, Rugby School Thailand (RST) is a co-educational British international day and boarding school for students aged 2 to 18. Located in Chonburi province, approximately 20 minutes from Pattaya and 90 minutes from Bangkok, RST offers a holistic education grounded in the British National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs and A Levels. The school is a sister institution to the historic Rugby School in the UK, founded in 1567.

 

 

Campus and Facilities

 

RST’s expansive 80-acre campus is designed to support a comprehensive educational experience:

 

  • Academic Facilities: State-of-the-art science laboratories, dedicated art and design studios, a performing arts centre, and specialized classrooms for various subjects.

  • Sports Facilities: A 50-meter ten-lane competition swimming pool, a 25-meter training pool, multiple outdoor sports pitches, tennis courts, and the Webb Ellis Sports Centre featuring a world-class fitness suite and FIBA-standard basketball courts.

  • Outdoor Education: An Eco Garden for sustainable practices, a 300-meter lake for kayaking and sailing, and an Outdoor Education Centre equipped with high ropes, zip lines, and archery ranges.

  • Boarding Houses: Three boarding houses accommodating up to 210 students, offering full, weekly, and part-time boarding options.

 

 

Curriculum

 

RST follows the British National Curriculum, adapted to the Thai context, emphasising both academic excellence and personal development:

 

  • Pre-Prep (Ages 2–7): Focus on hands-on learning, play-based activities, and foundational skills in literacy and numeracy.

  • Prep School (Ages 7–13): Introduction to specialist subject teaching, development of critical thinking skills, and preparation for senior school.

  • Senior School (Ages 13–18): Comprehensive IGCSE and A Level programs, with guidance for university admissions and career planning.

 

English as an Additional Language (EAL) support is available to ensure all students achieve language proficiency.

 

 

Boarding Life

 

Boarding is integral to RST’s community, fostering independence and personal growth:

 

  • Options: Full (7 days), weekly (5 days), and part-time (3 days) boarding to accommodate diverse family needs.

RST welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, with a student body comprising 60% international and 40% Thai students. The school year runs from August to June, with school hours from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
